This is manaman here. A few of you were asking in the Shoutbox, so I thought I'd post a news item (haven't seen one of those in a while, right?).
First of all, some of you may remember me. I have been a pretty active poster since October of 2006 when I first joined in order to get help temporarily emulating the games I had to leave in storage 3,000 miles away. The majority of my posts were in the Roleplaying section where I met some great people and enjoyed a real feeling of community but which now doesn't even show up on the main page because people haven't been posting.
For those of you who are new here to EmulatorWorld and don't know me, welcome and hello! I know many of you newcomers likely see this site as a little . . . unexciting right now. Help us change that! Please post!
Now, onto the news: April 27, 2009 I became an Admin and joined other Admins Shadow Dragon (the one and only who created this site), Patrick (who mostly comes by to work on the programming side of this site) and Dark Hero.
This came about because of a desire to help the social side of this site. Seeing it struggling and knowing Shadow Dragon has been busy with other things, I thought I'd come by to help keep the boards in order and continue posting. I've always enjoyed the community here. Sure, there are ups and downs, but I think people here are generally pleasant and I'm mostly interested in seeing a renewal in the community feel of this site.
Finally, this applies to those of you who know me: in a lame attempt at updating my avatar (to something very similar to my original avatar that I've had since the beginning in 2006), I ran into a problem with the site accepting something bigger than 50x50 pixels. Therefore, until I can manage to put back up my original avatar (who needs change anyway?) please put up with my smallish picture of Undine (it fit the 50x50 rule, what can I say?). Yup, that has newbie written all over it, huh?
Our apologies for the downtime this weekend. We had to move the site to a new server. The site is running again, the downloads will be back online asap!
We are relocating the website. Unfortunately, all downloads must remain offline while the website is moved. If all goes well , the downloads should be back online within 24 hours.
